Mental Health Training

Mental Health First Aid is accredited training that teaches the individual skills and knowledge to enable them to look after both their own mental wellbeing and that of other people.

QUALIFY AS MENTAL HEALTH:

AWARE

Half day courses - up to 16 people

Includes all official training materials and certificates. It is designed to give you:

  1. An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma.

  2. A basic knowledge of some common mental.

  3. An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing.

qualify as A MENTAL HEALTH:

CHAMPION

One-day course - up to 16 people

Includes all official training materials and certificates MHFA Champions have:

  1. An understanding of common mental health issues.

  2. Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness.

  3. Ability to spot signs of mental ill health.

  4. Skills to support positive wellbeing.

QUALIFY AS A MENTAL HEALTH:

FIRST AIDER

Two-day course - up to 16 people

Includes all official training materials and certificates Mental Health First Aiders have:

  1. An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing.

  2. Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues.

  3. Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress.

  4. Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgmental listening.

  5. Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix.
